Wendy Tayler – President and Accountable Executive
Wendy has spent over 30 years in the Yukon Territory. She is a Certified Management Accountant and has extensive experience with various businesses and industries in the North. She first joined Alkan Air in 1993 and quickly gained a passion for the aviation industry while working in accounting, dispatch and flight operations. Wendy became a partner in Alkan Air in 2007 while serving as general manager and became President in 2012.
Ron Limoges – General Manager
Ron Limoges completed his flight training in and around Edmonton, Alberta. After starting his career as a flight instructor, he moved to Fort Smith, NWT where he helped start a Flight School and flew charters. Ron joined Alkan Air in 1999 as a First Officer on the King Air. Since then he has held the positions of C206, PA31, Caravan and King Air Captain, Training Pilot, Check Pilot and Chief Pilot. Ron became an operating partner in 2007 and in 2012 transitioned from Chief Pilot to General Manager overseeing day to day operations.
Jeff Faulkner – Chief Pilot and Field Manager
Jeff Faulkner has lived in the Yukon for the past 25 years and comes from a family of aviators and wilderness enthusiasts. Jeff started flying in 1997, completed his flight training with Coastal Pacific Aviation and joined Alkan Air in 2002. Jeff has a wide range of flight experience on wheel, float and ski aircraft. He has flown throughout Western and Northern Canada operating bush, charter and medevac flights. In 2012, Jeff became an operating partner and transitioned from Assistant Chief Pilot overseeing bush operations to Chief Pilot. Jeff continues to oversee the bush operation as the company’s Field Manager.
Kevin Smit – Assistant Chief Pilot
Kevin has been in the aviation world for 9 years now. After completing his schooling at the Moncton Flight College in Moncton, New Brunswick, he was torn where to start his aviation career. With a lucky break, Kevin started bush flying in 2010 in Fort Simpson, NWT where he fell in love with the North and what it had to offer. After leaving the North late 2011, he knew it was only a matter of time before he would connect back with this spectacular mountainous land. Flying coast to coast and even outside of North America doing aerial survey, he acquired not only the importance of safety in aviation but also the knowledge of operating in foreign countries. Kevin started with Alkan Air early 2015 and is currently the Assistant Chief Pilot and flies the Caravan, Navajo and King Airs.
Ray Röthlisberger – Operations Manager
Ray Röthlisberger began flying in 1984. After flying in the South African military, he flew throughout southern Africa in a variety of roles. He managed a busy tourism charter company in Namibia for 11 years before moving to Canada in 2009. After instructing for a period in BC, he moved North. He had always had an interest in the North and in Yukon in particular. Ray has been with Alkan Air since 2012. He has been flying King Air’s on medevacs as well as the Caravan and has been involved in training as a Training Captain.
Robin Giesbrecht– DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE
Robin started in the industry working as an AME for several large charter operators in Toronto and Montreal after graduating from Centennial College in Toronto. He worked for many years as an AME as well as Director of Maintenance for six years with an EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) airline. Robin has travelled extensively to support aircraft operations on all the continents. He is very comfortable in the north as he grew up in north west Canada and the Yukon feels like home. Robin joined the Alkan Air team in 2016.
Wolf Benefeldt – Assistant PRm/Crew Chief
Wolf Benefeldt has over 15 years in the aviation industry spanning Aircraft Maintenance, Avionics and Flight Operations. Wolf attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology before joining SPAR aerospace in Edmonton and Calgary. He has diverse maintenance experience from small piston planes up to Transport Category aircraft. Wolf has also flown throughout the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Yukon and Northern British Columbia on various Air Taxi and Commuter Category aircraft. In 2013, Wolf became an Operating Partner and Director of Maintenance. Wolf has a strong commitment to safety and quality and oversees all aspects of our Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Organization.
Angela Kiriak – Safety manager and quality assurance
Angela began flying at 18 in the Okanagan, completing the Aviation Diploma Program OUC in Kelowna. After completing her instructor rating, she worked at flight schools in Vernon and Whitehorse before starting at Alkan Air in 2001 flying King Airs. After a lengthy break to have a family, Angela joins Alkan Air again as Safety Manager and Quality Assurance Auditor.
