WENDY TAYLER –
Board Chair
Wendy has spent over 30 years in the Yukon Territory. She is a Certified Management Accountant and has extensive experience with various businesses and industries in the North. She first joined Alkan Air in 1993 and quickly gained a passion for the aviation industry while working in accounting, dispatch and flight operations. Wendy became a partner in Alkan Air in 2007 while serving as general manager and became President in 2012.
ADAM SCHECK –
Director, Remote Aviation Operations
Adam was born and raised in the Yukon. Adam started his flight training in Whitehorse in 2001. Adam’s ambition was to fly in the bush and he flew for local operators in the Yukon including Alkan Air. In 2008 he moved south after an opportunity arose to fly floatplanes on the West Coast, making Nanaimo his new home. Since then he’s remained connected to the North spending several years flying seasonally in the Yukon. He has thousands of hours of experience safely operating a variety of aircraft on the Coast and in the North. Adam rejoined Alkan Air in 2015 and became an operating partner in 2017.
Tayler Mitchell –
Chief Operating Officer
Tayler was born and raised in the Yukon and is deeply passionate about the Territory and its people. Driven by a desire to help others, she pursued a career in healthcare caring for infants in the neonatal intensive care unit before returning to the Yukon in early 2022 to join the Alkan team. Tayler originally took on the role of Whitehorse Client Relations Base Manager, where she spent two years successfully managing the day-to-day operations of medevac and charter flights. In this role, she oversaw the logistical planning of flights and led our 24/7 dispatch team responsible for facilitating the movement of medevac patients. In addition, Tayler managed charter flights that primarily supported Yukon’s exploration and mining industries. As of January 1, 2025, Tayler has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Alkan. In this role, she brings her healthcare expertise, operational leadership, and strategic vision to guide the organization’s continued growth and ensure the delivery of exceptional services across the Yukon. Tayler remains committed to Alkan’s mission of saving lives and supporting the industries that sustain the region.
Allison Mauro –
Vice President, People
Allison has been visiting the Yukon since 2013 and decided to make the move permanent in 2018. Originally from Ontario, she earned her Honours Degree in Science, specialization in Kinesiology, prior to working as a RMT on the East Coast. She first started at Alkan as the Executive Assistant , prior to taking on Human Resources in 2019, and then advancing to Vice-President, People in 2022. Allison has successfully challenged the National Knowledge Exam and is currently a Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of BC & Yukon Candidate. She is responsible for all HR functions within the company and is passionate in her approach to help Alkan be the employer of choice.
Darryl Laliberte, CD –
Operations Manager
Darryl was born and raised in Manitoba and moved to the Yukon in 2008. He is married with one child. He has 13+ years military service and has served in various capacities as an Officer. His aviation experience includes 8+ years in Yukon, primarily in back country and remote operations on Floats, Skis and off strip wheels. Through his aviation tenure, Darryl has held roles as Training Officer, Safey Manager and PRM. In addition to being the Operations Manager with Alkan Air, he continues to explore the skies as a line pilot. Darryl has experience working with a variety of aviation clients including, tourism and outfitting, medevac operations, mining and exploration operations, aerial survey and wildlife telemetry, government enforcement air operations and general charter operations.
Maxime Gouyou-Beauchamps –
Whitehorse Client Relations Base Manager
Since moving to the Yukon in 2011, Max has cultivated a diverse career blending logistics, customer relations, and operations management in the North. With a Master’s degree in Conservation Biology, Max began his professional journey with a focus on biodiversity and environmental stewardship, working on conservation projects in France before transitioning to Canada. Max joined Alkan Air’s dispatch team in October 2023, bringing a wealth of experience from three years in mining exploration and over a decade as co-founder and leader of a wilderness tourism business. Through Terre Boréale, Maxime not only guided clients on unforgettable wilderness adventures but also championed sustainability, earning B-Corp certification for the business. Fluent in French and English, Max combines a deep passion for the boreal landscape with a practical understanding of northern logistics and remote operations. Max is committed to advancing Alkan Air’s mission of connecting communities and industries across the region.
JEFF FAULKNER –
Chief Aviation Officer/Accountable Executive
Jeff Faulkner has lived in the Yukon for the past 25 years and comes from a family of aviators and wilderness enthusiasts. Jeff started flying in 1997, completed his flight training with Coastal Pacific Aviation and joined Alkan Air in 2002. Jeff has a wide range of flight experience on wheel, float and ski aircraft. He has flown throughout Western and Northern Canada operating bush, charter and medevac flights. In 2012, Jeff became an operating partner and transitioned from Assistant Chief Pilot overseeing bush operations to Chief Pilot. Jeff continues to oversee the bush operation as the company’s Vice President.
Lacia Kinnear –
Chief Executive Officer
Lacia has lived and worked in Canada’s North for over 17 years, bringing extensive experience in leadership and regional development. She joined Alkan Air in 2022 as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing business development, client relations, and operations, and transitioned to Chief Executive Officer in January 2025. As CEO, she drives the company’s strategic directions, ensuring the alignment of systems, resources, partnerships, and people to achieve its goals. Before joining Alkan Air, Lacia held senior leadership roles at Yukon University, where she was instrumental in transforming Yukon College into Canada’s first northern university in 2020. Her work included developing legislation, governance structures, and strategic initiatives that continue to shape the institution’s success. Lacia is known for her collaborative leadership, strong process design, and ability to maintain vision and perspective in challenging situations. Lacia is passionate about building strong partnerships, aligning with Alkan Air’s dedication to working collaboratively across the Yukon, supporting northern development, and strengthening Alkan Air’s role as a leader in northern aviation.
Laura Williamson –
Vice President, Finance and Corporate Affairs
Laura has been part of the Alkan Air finance team since 2022. Originally from Sioux Lookout, Ontario, she spent four years in Winnipeg, Manitoba before moving to Whitehorse with her husband in 2003, where they quickly fell in love with the Yukon. Outside of work, Laura enjoys camping, curling, and volunteering for events such as the Klondike Road Relay, KCIBR, and the Yukon Amateur Radio Association. She also volunteered on the Finance teams for the 2007 Canada Winter Games and the 2012 and 2020 Arctic Winter Games. Laura earned her Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree with an Accounting Major from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Her professional experience spans various industries, including insurance, retail, radio, and government, with a focus on payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting. She is eager to share her expertise to contribute to Alkan Air’s continued success through effective fiscal management.
Rodney Millie –
Director of Maintenance
Rodney was born in France and moved to Canada at an early age, where he continued his education and discovered his passion for aviation. For more than 45 years he trained and worked in the aviation industry gaining experience in the military, the air ambulance world, scheduled service and the charter sector. His aviation knowledge covers jets, turboprops and radial engines and his knowledge encompasses aircraft operating on wheels, floats and skis. In 2005, Rodney moved to Nanaimo BC where he worked and consulted with West Coast Air and SeaLand Aviation until 2010. Prior to joining Alkan Air in 2022, he spent 12 years as the Director of Maintenance at Seair Seaplanes ensuring that the fleet was maintained to the strictest of standards. As Alkan Air’s Director of Maintenance, Rodney’s knowledge and wealth of experience allows him to lead and manage his team of skilled engineers to ensure that the Alkan fleet meets the company’s exacting standards of excellence and guarantees the safety and well-being of those passengers who trust in our service.
Nina Bukovac –
Nanaimo Client Relations Base Manager
Nina is no stranger to aviation, having spent 20+ years in the industry as a dispatcher and Base Manager. Prior to joining Alkan Air in Nanaimo, Nina had worked for a variety of companies over the years, including Harbour Air Seaplanes, Pacific Coastal Airlines as well as Vancouver Island Helicopters. Nina has a passion for aviation and for helping people. She takes great pride in managing the logistics of Medevac’s within BC, Canada, US and Mexico. When she is not in the office you will find her at the farm with her daughter Melia, where they enjoy barrel racing, trail riding and cattle sorting.
Brad Corriveau –
Safety Manager
Brad is new to the aviation community but neither new nor inexperienced in regard to safety or flying. With over 30 years of experience in project management and environmental consulting requiring remote air travel across western Canada and an in depth understanding of stringent safety and compliance policies and regulations, he brings to the role of safety manager here at Alkan Air a dedicated eye for recognizing and addressing safety concerns whilst balancing the development of a cultural attitude towards well-being. With a varied academic background in laboratory medicine, engineering and governmental practices, he has liaised with multiple stakeholders to successful conclusion that always put safety as a top priority. Having a long history as an adventure traveler and thrill seeker, he is a capable analyst of risk management to ensure that system design is appropriate to desired outcome – a company and community dedicated to safe practices that ensure clients and passengers feel secure in reaching their destinations with great care given to their health, comfort and especially, their safety.
